London Fashion Week: The hair diaries
For London Fashion Week SS26, the Haug London Haus team, brought their creativity and expertise backstage to help shape the hair direction for two standout shows: Edeline Lee and Hu Bing. Philipp Haug, lead stylist, worked closely with each designer to translate bold runway visions into contemporary looks — each one helping to tell the designer’s story.
London Fashion Week is always a highlight for us, from prepping models and perfecting textures to executing precision finishes under pressure, the team’s craft and passion were at the heart of every look they created.
Here’s how Haug London Stylists, Julian, Nikos, Dan, Katie, Dora, Joana and Philip and the Schwarzkopf Pro team brought each designers vision to life, telling the story of their clothes with trend-setting moments set to influence far beyond the catwalk.
Edeline Lee: Strength, femininity, and playful elegance
Edeline Lee’s collection was inspired by the early 20th-century women’s rights movement, with nods to circus motifs and playful detailing with collars and buttons.
Philipp said: “The hair needed to honour that strength while staying modern and wearable, without becoming retro. We kept the look clean and powerful with low, sleek ponytails pulled away from the face, which gave the models an empowered silhouette.
“The hair was styled with a sharp side parting and smoothed into a sleek crown using mousse and gel from Schwarzkopf’s Session Label range. Depending on the outfit, ponytails were either tucked neatly into clothing (when paired with bold colours) or left simple and elegant.”
How to get the hair look: A sleek ponytail never goes out of style. With the right prep and product, it can look fresh, chic, and modern rather than retro. It’s the perfect option if you want something sophisticated for work or evening wear. Ask your stylist to show you how to achieve that glossy, controlled finish.
Hu Bing: Editorial drama meets clean minimalism
For Hu Bing’s showcase at Freemasons’ Hall, the brief was all about versatility. Many of the models wore hats, so the hair had to balance editorial flair with clean lines. Philipp created three key looks.
He said: “We created a wrapped ponytail, which was essentially a low ponytail taken to the next level by wrapping long lengths of hair around itself, creating a sculptural, silhouette. Under the hats short and edgy pixie fringes peeked out from beneath, with natural texture taking centre stage with a playful 1960s vibe.
“Products were kept minimal, using mousse and flexible hairspray to ensure the finish was polished yet natural.”
The power ponytail look: These looks show how small details can completely change a style. A wrapped ponytail can instantly elevate your everyday look, while a fresh fringe can add interest and edge to your style.
Fashion Week sets the tone for upcoming trends, and this season the message is clear - simplicity with intention. The catwalk is reminding us that hair doesn’t need to be overcomplicated to make a statement.
