Backstage at the BAFTAS: Breaking down the 2025 hair looks
The 2025 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises delivered a dazzling spectacle of British TV talent at London's Royal Festival Hall. Philipp Haug, co-owner of our Fitzrovia salon Haug London Haus, was the official lead stylist for the event, leading a team of Schwarzkopf Professional session stylists to create stunning looks for the brightest stars of the small screen.
With a reputation for pushing the boundaries of professional styling, Schwarzkopf Professional continues to champion the craft of hairdressing around the world, partnering with pioneering salons like ours, and developing innovative product technologies that deliver salon-level results both in-chair and at home.
Philipp, a Schwarzkopf Professional Ambassador, former London Hairdresser of the Year and co-founder of one of the top London salons, brings over two decades of experience to the table. His work has taken him across the globe and he’s a regular at fashion weeks from London to Copenhagen
Here Philipp shares a few of the looks he created for the evening, each designed to embrace individual style, enhance natural beauty, and withstand a long night of cameras, lights, and celebration.
Polished Elegance for Suranne Jones
“Suranne’s brief was for a 90's Prada-inspired classy, ‘grown-up’, polished style, so we paired a strong centre parting and a clean low bun, twisted slightly to get that elegant shape. I used Schwarzkopf Elastic Hairspray to keep the hair looking clean and polished, but still natural - it’s my hero product for flexible, movable hold to keep styles intact without compromising softness or touchability throughout the night.”

Sleek Sophistication for Monica Dolan
“Monica Dolan wore a statement dress, so we decided to keep that super sharp bob, blow-dried it smooth and then straightened it for extra polish. It’s slightly tucked under and finished with OSiS Sparkler to get that shiny glass hair feeling.”

Natural Movement for Kirsty Wark
Kirsty Wark was presented with the BAFTA Fellowship, the highest accolade bestowed upon an individual in recognition of an outstanding contribution to film, games, or television.
“We worked with Kirsty’s natural texture to create a little bit of movement and volume, blow drying first then using tongs to twist it out really nicely.”
MEN’S GROOMING TIPS FROM THE BAFTAS
How can you find the best men’s hairstyle for a special occasion that will actually suit you? While women’s hair lends itself to a glamorous transformation, what should you be aiming for when it comes to gents’ styles? Whether it’s a wedding, work event or night out, former London Hairdresser of the Year Philipp Haug has got you covered…
Defined curls for Fra Fee
Take the Lost Boys and Fairies actor, Fra Fee, who Philipp says, “has incredible hair, it’s thick, wavy and a good length, so to create a groomed version of how he usually wears it, instead of a strong side parting we just directed it slightly from one side, taking it narrow into the head, then worked in a generous amount of OSiS Air Whip mousse. If you have curly hair, you want to apply this on dripping wet hair before drying to get that nice definition in the curls.
Grooming for Ben Miller
“Don’t be afraid of product - I also used the OSiS Air Whip flexible mousse for Ben’s classic, groomed look – we parted it gently at the side and with the mousse in the hair, blow dried it slightly off the side so it looks shaped but not loaded with product. To take away any fluffiness we finished with OsiS Flexwax.”
